About AIIMS Delhi

Established in 1956 under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi is an autonomous institution of national importance. It operates as a comprehensive medical university, hospital, and research center of excellence.

AIIMS Delhi was conceived to set a benchmark for high-quality medical education in India and to provide superior healthcare services to all citizens. AIIMS Delhi offers comprehensive medical education programs from undergraduate to super-specialty levels, training over 5000 students annually. Our educational philosophy emphasizes evidence-based medicine, clinical excellence, and research orientation.

Undergraduate Programs

The MBBS program at AIIMS is highly competitive, admitting 125 students annually through a national entrance examination. The curriculum integrates basic sciences with clinical training from the first year, emphasizing problem-based learning and early patient contact.

Postgraduate Programs

AIIMS offers MD/MS in 62 specialties, DM/MCh in 65 super-specialties, and PhD programs in 42 disciplines. Postgraduate training emphasizes research methodology, teaching skills, and advanced clinical competencies.

Nursing & Paramedical

The College of Nursing offers B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. programs, while the Paramedical Sciences section provides training in 22 allied health specialties including medical laboratory technology, radiography, and physiotherapy.
